Help please!

5A,

I am hoping that one of you owns the music to CAMP ROCK and could bring it tomorrow.
We cannot use the theatre to practise "Hasta La Vista" and so I will need a CD to play it in the patio.

Hope you have all recovered from camp/playground painting!

See you tomorrow!

Miss Sam

Good revision books

I have added the links again for REVISION books to the website list. If your parents wish to buy them, copy down the title and the ISBN code to give to the bookshop.

Many of your parents have asked me to recommend books for you to use during the summer months to practise and revise from. Above is a link to some good Key Stage 2 books that you can do exercises in and check your answers and they are quite cheap. You can also choose to buy books for the particular area that you want to practise.

Lots of the internet sites you have been using this year are very good practice too but it´s good to mix things up so that you do not get bored. Also, I know that some of your parents worry about internet safety.

Some of you may also want to look at the Key Stage 3 resources. to do so, look at the left side of the WHSmith page and click on Key Stage 3.

I have also made a list on Amazon for your parents to print out if they wish. That means they can order these books using the books´ ISBN codes.

I hope that helps a bit!

Skimming and scanning!

Have a go at these for revision!
Remember to identify the KEY WORDS in the questions and then skim and scan the text to find the answers!
Word searches really help to improve your skimming and scanning technique and they´re fun too!

Spelling Revision

I have just added a link for spelling revision but it would help to revise the main rules that we have studied for the last term.

I will add a few files to Edmodo to help you too.

I hope revision is going well.

Just think - one week and it's all over!

Enjoy!

Who Will I Be?

This is the other song we could perform.

Hasta la vista!

At the end of the term we will be having a 5th Grade end of year assembly.
This year it will be a talent show showcasing all the amazing things you can do.
Each teacher will be working on a different thing for the assembly and you get to choose what you would like to do. We will all be practising certain songs with Mr Harvey and I know Miss Zena will be doing a dance.

Javier S suggested this song to me and I would like to practise this some of P5. Any ideas are welcome as this is your assembly. It's also nice to think of what we're going to do after the SATs!!

If anyone has "Camp Rock" could they bring it in so that we can watch this song together.

Thanks!

p.s If you want to work with Miss Zena and Miss Vivienne, please do so. It is your assembly and your choice!!!

Special message for Marta

Marta,

I hope you are feeling much better now. You can send messages to us on here tomorrow if you are off school again.

I was bitten by a dog when I was about 8 years old - if you look closely, you can see a scar next to my left eye. I've had loads of dogs since and I haven't had any more problems.

I know we are all looking forward to you coming back to school to cheer up our room with your big smile!

See you soon,

Miss Sam

Buddy masks!

Well done to you all for your excellent effort in writing mask-making instructions!

Though there were some spelling and grammar mistakes, I was impressed with the standard of your work and I know that your buddies will enjoy making them.

Here are some photos showing instructions that were very clear OR had diagrams/images to help with understanding.

I look forward to scanning other people´s work after the next buddy project.

Well done once again!

Miss Sam

This week we will be writing... RECOUNTS

Do you remember way back in September when we were writing biographies and autobiographies? Well, as that was such a long time ago, we are going to revise writing recounts this week.

We have been writing some recounts over the last few months (postcards, diaries and letters) and I'm sure you will all remember how to write them!

If you get the chance, look at this recount book before tomorrow.

See you soon!

Miss Sam

Important message for Lara

Lara,

When will you be back with us? I am having trouble with my e-mail account but will try to send the information to you on Monday at school.

For now, please do the BUDDY homework you can see below, revise from the Science Revision website (particularly Days 19 and 20) and revise fractions, decimals and percentages (go to: www.bbc.co.uk/schools and the maths section, particularly BBC Bitewise Key Stage 2).

Hope that helps!!

Miss Sam

Hope you are all still having a great holiday. Thanks Enaitz for your message all the way from the Basque Country!! What's "Happy Easter" in Basque?

Congratulations Natalia - we all look forward to seeing your medal and hearing about your win. It sounds like you've been revising a lot so well done! I hope you had a lovely time in the south with your doggies (and your family!).

Just to let you know that we will be doing GYMNASTICS on Mondays this term and tennis on Fridays so please bring your kit! Anyone who is a particular expert and would like to help me coach, please feel free. I think Natalia will be a big help for gymnastics and Bruno will be a great tennis coach but I know there are more of you out there!

Science homework for the holiday!

During the LONG Easter holidays I would like you to try the 2006 Science SATs test A. Click here if you would like to print your own copy.

I do not want you to:
a) Get stressed about it.
b) Spend all holiday doing it.

I'm only giving it to you so you can see what the questions are like and how it is laid out.

Just have a go!

Joseph Leaflet

Your literacy homework for next Monday is to make a Joseph leaflet to advertise the school show. P1 and P2 parents will come on Wednesday 25th March at 11 o´clock. P3, P4 and P5 parents will come on Thursday 26th March at 11 o´clock.

Look at the four images below from a great book of Miss Vivienne´s called "Assess Skills in non-Fiction" as their tips will help to make your leaflet as good as possible.

I will put the leaflets up for a display next week.
